Next Steps in Faith: Walking It Out Daily
Salvation is not the finish line — it’s the starting gate. When you gave your life to Jesus, you stepped into a brand-new journey filled with purpose and power. God didn’t just save you from something (sin, guilt, death). He saved you for something — a life that matters, a mission that changes the world around you.
You Were Saved for a Purpose
📖 “God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would do good works. God had planned in advance those good works for us, and He had planned for us to live our lives doing them.” — Ephesians 2:10 (NCV)
Every believer has a calling. It may not be preaching to crowds or going overseas, but your life is meant to reflect Jesus. Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, every way you serve is part of God’s plan.
Reflection: What are some ways you’ve already seen God use you since you were saved?
You Have Power to Live Out Your Calling
📖 “But when the Holy Spirit comes to you, you will receive power. You will be my witnesses—in Jerusalem, in all of Judea, in Samaria, and in every part of the world.” — Acts 1:8 (NCV)
God never intended for you to walk this path in your own strength. Holy Spirit fills you with courage, wisdom, and supernatural strength. With Him living in you, no step of obedience is too small or too big.
Reflection: Where do you need Holy Spirit’s power most in your life right now?
Your Gifts and Story Matter
📖 “Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace.” — 1 Peter 4:10 (NCV)
You have been given gifts — skills, talents, and even your life story. Nothing is wasted in God’s hands. The very things you’ve walked through, whether victories or struggles, can encourage someone else.
Reflection: What is one gift or part of your story you can begin to share or use for God?
Your Mission is to Keep Growing and Going
📖 “So, as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him. Keep your roots deep in Him and have your lives built on Him. Be strong in the faith, just as you were taught. And always be thankful.” — Colossians 2:6–7
📖 “So he said, ‘Here I am. Send me!’” — Isaiah 6:8
Growth in Christ is not a one-time decision — it’s a daily walk. You grow as you study the Word, pray, serve, and step out in faith. And God is always ready to send you to the next place, the next person, the next opportunity.
Reflection: What’s one “next step” you sense God may be asking you to take?
Action Steps This Week
1. Reflect on where God may be sending you next.
2. If you haven’t been baptized, talk with someone about taking that step.
3. Identify a gift or skill you can begin using to serve.
4. Share a part of your testimony with someone.
5. Spend time praying, “Lord, what’s next for me?”
Closing Thought
You are not just saved — you are sent. God has a plan for your life, and He has placed His power within you to live it out. The question is not if you are called, but where and how. As you take your next steps, trust that the One who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.
📖 “God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again.” — Philippians 1:6
